havanaclub7 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I'm just wondering if anyone here has bought a Montecristo Travel Humidor with 10 Monte Edmundos. I know the Edmundos are great smokes, but I'm wondering how the humidor itself performs. I've heard good things from another person, but have limited experience. If the humidor performs well, I'd like to pick one up soon!
Cam Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I've got one, they're majorly over priced as any special release of any product is, but 8 out of 10 smoked really well so I found consistency great! hope this helps just a little Cam -
wdh Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 » I'm just wondering if anyone here has bought a Montecristo Travel Humidor » with 10 Monte Edmundos. I bought one and although it's a bit pricey, it's beautifully made and I've found it to maintain humidity levels very well. I've only smoked a couple of the edmundos and they've been disappointing, particularly the gymnastics required to keep them lit and evenly burning. Rob said they're awfully young so they're maturing a bit more before I smoke #3! bill
patrick Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I know a few people who have them and they are delighted with the humidor. Very very good quality and design.

In all honesty, that's what really has me interested because I'm looking to get a high quality travel humidor. To me the cigars are a bonus. I was leaning toward a Davidoff travel humidor, but if the Monte is a great product, It would be about $100 less (U.S.) and I'd get the cigars.
El Presidente Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 They got this one right. The Travel Humidor is aesthetically pleasing and well made. The Edmundo's that came with the humidor were wet. I assume they went from the rolling tables straight into the Travel Humidors and straight out to the market.

What are the chances you'll be getting some more of these?
Colt45 Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I like the looks of this humidor, and I wonder if they'd consider producing it without the cigars and Montecristo logo? A Friends of Habanos edition perhaps........
genevapics Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I just received my Montecristo Travel Humidor from Rob about a few days ago. I was fortunate enough to win it in the last FOH sponsored Poker Tournament. Packaging and presentation is top notch! The look and feel of the leather is very nice. Inside, the humidor is lined with cedar and comes with two (2) cedar separators. The stitching and finishing is really well done. In addition, the humidification system looks first rate as does the hygrometer. I have no idea what these retail for in a store, but if the price were right, I would certainly purchase one. Can't compare it to the Davidoff, but then again, what manufacturer can? If you are looking to pick up a well made travel humidor, the Montecristo Travel Humidor is a nice find. I like it enough, that I think I will buy one for a Christmas gift for a good friend... provided I don't win another one from the Czar! :-P While I am at it, let me thank El Prez for his generosity in holding the Poker Tournament and offering such a wonderful prize. The Montecristo Travel Humidor makes a fantastic gift! This was something I really wanted and was willing to purchase outright, but as luck would have it, I was fortunate enough to win one in the FOH Poker Tourney. It looks great. I have no idea how well it will keep cigars, but I believe the Montecristo Travel Humidor will be up to the task. Thanks again Rob for a great gift.
Gryphon Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I think its fantastic. A classy product. Have not smoked any of the Edmundos - all seem far too wet, which makes sense. This is a product that was supposed to be sitting around airports... If you can get your hands on one. Go for it.
rafa Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I don't know how works the travel humidor, but i bought some weeks ago The montecristo Edmundo First Anniversary Humidor (A very beautiful cedar box, Limited Edition -the box, not the cigars- with 4 cigars , only 40 Euros) and the humidifier works very good. I know, this humidor isn't for travel , but if all products from Montecristo have the same hight quality, the travel humidor could be a great purchase. Some pics Some time ago i saw a travel Humidor with 6 Partagas DN4. It seemed fantastic too.
