Moglman Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Nice review. I am leaving an 06 cab alone for a while yet. How did it pair up with the Blue Moon? I've found that's a difficult beer (Belgian White) to pair up a smoke with.
Ken Gargett Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 just so as i understand, you are a plpc newbie yet have stocked up on three cabs. be a major blow if you didn't like them but what i want to know is what the hell is going to happen when you get serious? ps - love these and grabbed an 07 cab, trying to avoid touching it as when i thought i'd try a couple of the 05 cab, nearly wiped them out.

I get a lot of info from the BB's and have enjoyed the PLPC's I have smoked immensely. Love the Montecarlos as well. It's a dead ringer that these smokes are going to be stellar in years to come. If my tastes change or I don't like em' 3-5 years from now I'm sure I would have NO problem unloading them. For some reason Rob and Lisa keep telling me it's about time I get serious with this hobby/sickness/mental illness! I think they have ulterior motives.....
BigSlick Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 » i think you might already be past that stage.
BigSlick Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 To start, I have horded 3 cabs of these cigars. 2 from 06 and now 1 from 07. Being a PLPC newbie I have been test driving these cigars over the last year to study their progression. I must say they are coming along quite nicely! I paired this cigar with a Blue Moon Summer Ale and Stephen King book on the front patio. It was hotter than a 2 dollar pistol, but bearable in the shade with an ice cold beer. The first third of the cigar started with tastes of honey and cedar with light black licorice on the finish. The second third of the cigar had a wide array of flavors including vanilla bean, earth and charred wood with a light spice on the finish The last third of the cigar smacked of core tobacco and sweet earth. Unfortunately a light soapy finish acoompanied as well. I believe this to be due to it's age and suspect will subside as these little buggers continue to hybernate. Have heard these become legendary with a good amount of age. Will report back in 6-9 months on further progression. Beer was great too btw. :-P
