Review - Romeo and Julieta Short Chruchill

Picked up a box of 10 of these last summer (2006). Smoked a few OTT and was impressed with the quality of how they were made and the intresting "light" flavors.

It has been a year and I have a few left, so I thought that I would try another.

Pre-light - Not a stong smelling cigar. Very light tobacco scent. Clipped and the draw was firm, yet damn near perfect in my book. I like a somewhat firm draw. The flavor again was very light tobacco. Reminded me of what a good un-lit Macanundo would taste like. Fairly light.

Lit the cigar and it burned perfect. The flavors were again, fairly light, but also present. Carmel and some toast are present. Sweet tobacco amd not much else. I am surprised at how this cigar lacks the classic Habanos toast. It it were unbanded and I tasted it blind, I would be hard pressed to call this a Cuban cigar.

This is not to say that the this is a poor cigar, just different. The aroma of the smoke is elegant, Similar to a Montecristo from the Dominican Republic. Very interesting.

In the end, this cigar did not develop much. Great flavors of carmel and light toast with some sweet tobacco, but nothing else.

Would I purchase another box of these? Probably not. I like a more full bodied smoke. A great cigar if you want a very short finish. Not much flavor after you finish smoking it. Great pre-bedtime smoke.

I understand the tubos smoke much different.

I love these for the most part, have smoked several boxes. This has been my Halloween smoke the last 5 years as I walk around with the kids. In fact I am smoking one right now. This one is not that good. SOmetimes they can be hit and miss. Would much rather smoke a PSD4.

Thanks for the review.

I have to agree with your review. Spot on. It's a well made cigar, but the flavors are very light. I keep a few around to provide to some family members that like cigars, but are not a fan of anything over the light category.
