Colt45 Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Slick, great story and pics. It's funny, often enough, at least for me, the cigars I have the highest expectations of tend to be a letdown, while the cigars I might expect the least of impress. Thanks again.
El Presidente Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Great review Tom Interesting to note that draw problems were evident in 1987. One would think that they only came into evidence in 98/99/00. I have a few remaining to fire up with Ken, Macho and Des on the coming weeks. Looking forward to it.
asmith Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Great review Tom, I thought I recognised those beaches. There are few better places in the world to enjoy a cigar than in Antigua. Hope you enjoyed the trip.

BigSlick Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 I wanted a cigar to take with me on my trip to Antigua. Something special that I could smoke on the beach to earmark a highly anticipated trip to paradise. This hour of bliss will remain with me until the day I die. The beginnings: This No.1 was oily and spongy, the cello was light orangish yellow. I clipped the cap and found a medium draw. Not loose, but not tight. I could tell it might be "iffy". The first third was very mild. The draw was a bit on the tight side after the first few pulls. I hoped it would work itself out. After about 5 draws it loosened a little. The cigar tasted of hot tea with honey sweetness. The mids: After passing the 2/3 point the tea flavors became much more prominent as did the core tobacco taste. An orange/lemon zest introduced itself on the finish. The ends: The tea flavors matured into light coffee with sweet cream, still with small remnants of citrus zest. Unfortunately at this point the draw became tight. I tried massaging the cigar back to life with no success. My journey had come to an end. I was dissapointed with the draw and had expected little more body than this cigar could produce, but overall it was very enjoyable. Here are a few more smokes I burned while there. PSD#4 Tatuaje Cojonu06 Punch Coronation A/T RyJ Short Churchill Thanks for looking. TD
