Partagas SP2

Colt45

Recommended Posts

I don't actually have the code, but I'm assuming '05

Construction: Excellent - nice and solid.

Wrapper: Medium to dark brown. Smooth, but finely toothed. Nice sheen.

Draw: Just about perfect.

Taste: Lightly spiced, with dark chocolate, and a menthol - like quality. Woody, with a

short, dry finish. About halfway in, it became more earthy and musky.

These qualities became more pronounced as the smoke progressed. In the

last third. it picked up some slight floral notes.

If I had tasted this blind, I would have never pegged this as Cuban. In fact, it

reminded me quite a bit, down to the perfumed pre light aroma, of a Honduran

cigar I smoke regularly. I enjoyed it. I'm really intersested to see how these

progress. For now I give it 88 points.

The ones I've smoked were from a JAN (ENE) 05 box, the first one I smoked didn't seen to special. Revisited them about 2 weeks ago and thought they are improving nicely! Given a little age, I think they being scoring in the 90's. Agree with your 88 score for now, nice review. :-)

I have smoked quite alot of these.... I think they are very partagas but just stronger... reminds me a little like the party pryamides when they first launched in 2000....

The P2 are made with one and a half ligero and are nice strong smokes... definately one to age.....

My box is from ene05 and I've smoke a few of these and they just keep getting better and better. I want to save the rest of the box for further aging so will be ordering more from Lisa in a week or so. These are now my favorite smokes, replacing the BBF and VR Unicos.

I have smoked over 20 of these buggers so far, and am very impressed. Some have been better than others, and some have been stunning. If you like Partagas, you're gonna love this one. The profile is unique, but distinctly Partagas. It starts mild, like an aged lonsdale, with sweet wood and earth. In the middle, it's more like an 898V, with some bitter leather, and hints of cocoa and cinnamon. Toward the end, it builds in strength, and finishes with a load of spice, like a Party Corona or even a PSD4. Quite a smoke! Don't miss this.

First one I had from my box was great. The 2nd was a little less than stellar to say the least.A bit plugged.I guess I need to try another real soon....

Seems the only way I'll age these is if I get another box....:-|

So THAT's why I can't get enough of these...if you're not a shrink, you should be:-D

» I've smoked from two different boxes (SVF FEB05 and FIM FEB05). The SVFs

» have been considerably better tasting, but the FIMs are better made. I'm

» smoking the SVFs frequently, while they're still rocking.

That is the problem.... good smokes make it difficult to hoard them for the long term..... but they are definately great for aging...
