found an old copy - a first edition from 1924, no less (checked it out, worth about a whole $40) - of zane grey's 'tales of southern rivers' in among my father's books. looks like an interesting read. i know he was a favourite of dad's.

anyone read any?

the photos of some of the fish look fantastic. different world today.

I used to love reading his Westerns. Very straight-forward, good guys versus bad guys, but written beautifully. I must have read 30 or 40 of his books.

it is like a faulty tap, isn't it, that someone forgot to get fixed. just keeps dripping rubbish - day and night, week or weekend.

the crap tap!

it so happens that it a lot of dad's books got put in with mine down here years ago. i assure you i have no desire to snoop through mum and dad's stuff - i wish that mum felt the same.

Good Western writer, but if you want to read an excellent writer, try Robert Service. His tales of the Yukon Goldrush are fantastic.
