Freefallguy
I was in the airport duty free shop in Christchurch, NZ and thought I’d check out the Cubans. A single CoRo was $42NZ ($30.22US). ONE stinkin' tinderbox dry cigar!!! You have no idea how good we have it here at FOH. Long live the Czar!
Cam
if you want good prices for duty free try Havana house they aren't bad, there's one in Christchurch now I think.

No thanks, I don't buy anywhere else. I was just trying to make a point about overpriced inferior products for the unschooled masses. Present company excluded of course! JMH
You don't know how lucky you have it living in the states, and not having to pay any taxes on the cigars you buy.
Colt45
» You don't know how lucky you have it living in the states, and not having » to pay any taxes on the cigars you buy. If we buy cigars in the states, specifically in our home state, we do pay taxes. We pay the tobacco tax, and sales tax as well - in states that have sales tax. It probably still is not close what you guys have to unfortunately pay.

Sorry for being vague, I was referring to cigars bought from rob. Check out czars australian site to see just how ridiculous our taxes are. Cam
the unschooled masses.. I do think aloot of people in New Zealand know about cigars despite what you might think about our country, then again New Zealand and Australian retailers pay horrific amounts of tax per box of cigars.. mef
I agree with JB and I don't buy cigars from the airport duty free. Unfortunately most retailers here don't have a good range and cigars are not well stored. I get mine from the Czar.

I love NZ and see myself wintering over there(split with Oz) in about 5 years. The masses I referred to are uninformed Yanks, or like travelers, who'd have the wealth of the czar info/stock if they only knew where to look. Does anyone really buy Duty Free? I can't see where there is enough savings to justify it. GST free is a big difference.

Freefallguy
» » Rob, NZ welcomes you with open arms Gents, I'd love to get together for a smoke and a round about the links... but I WAS there for only a week. Hopefully next year will be longer. I just ran the numbers on the cost of an Aussie box of CoRo's and a US box... the Aussie box is 55% higher! Unbelievable!
