Colt45 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Picked up a bottle and tried this past Saturday. I didn't take real notes, but felt this one was worth commenting on nonetheless. I found out afterwards that this is 70% merlot, 30% - I usually lean toward the cab side of bordeaux. I opened and poured approx. two hour before drinking. Deep garnet in color, light pepper, wood, and fruit on the nose. Tasting showed black pepper, dark fruit, and light smoke. It was round without being soft or flabby. Enough tannin to give nice structure, well integrated and in the background. A dense mouthfeel, but this was not syrupy or over extracted. It had a long finish. This was a very well balanced and integrated wine. A very well made bordeaux, and at U.S. $17, I feel a great value.
