Acquired as singles, I've had these since August '05 - I don't have exact dates.

Construction: Felt light in the hand, decent foot.

Wrapper: Medium colorado with a light sheen. A small crack in the wrapper -

resembled a fingernail scratch.

Draw: LOOSE! Very little resistance, almost like pulling through a 52 gauge straw.

The cigar never became overly soft or mushy, and though it may have been

slightly underfilled, it seemed like more of a roll issue, but I can't be sure.

Taste: Draw notwithstanding, there were some very good underlying flavors. Light

coffee with cream, milk chocolate, some earthy tobacco, with a core of raisin.

Medium in body, smooth with no harshness. What a shame - with a proper draw, it

had the potential to be a dense flavor bomb, but the draw was nagging.

Even though I did enjoy it, given the poor draw, if I'm to be objective, I cannot rate

it higher than 83.

This cigar is always great...The 1st time I had it......it brought tears to my eyes......I don't know why, but it always makes me feel emotional...With that said....

I know this sounds strange! It only happens with this cigar....I get real home sick...start to think about the past....life....issues.....

Nothing robs flavour more than a loose draw. Depressing when it happens.

In 2005 Habanos s.a realised this was a problem and a greater effort was made to educate the rollers, the draw machine team and the quality inspectors that this was not acceptable....that it was as big a problem as tight or plugged cigars. Late 2005 saw an excellent turnaround which continued into 2006. However, we still saw some awfull underfilled batches of underfilled cigars come through such as the Partagas Short cabs of third quarter of 2006. When we come across these instances (I am talking multiples of the same problem)we e-mail Habanos s.a contacts with the details of the cigar and box codes. They then check their stocks within the warehouse (the Habanos s.a inspection team comprising currently of 18 people) and they also address the issue with the factory manager.

Well, the beauty with Pyramide cigar is that you can easily control the width of the cut. Probably you can have another one with a smaller cut, giving you probably a tighter draw. And if the taste becomes to harsh or bitter you can re-cut and open it wider.

I don't know... this is what I use to do with Pyramides and Campana to avoid a '52 gauge straw' draw.

I wish this were the case. In this instance there was no hope. It required drawing

from the chest. Normally such a cigar would get chucked, but the flavor was enough

to keep me going.

I just lit my first # 2 and was hurting my mouth and cheeks and lungs I was pulling so hard. It was so tight and plugged that it had no chance from the beginning. I tried to massage it out a little but still nothing. I am and was very pissed off. I tossed it and turned to the always reliant RASS and am enjoying it greatly while sitting on my patio looking up porn on the laptop.
