brian1 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I think your right, these may well be on the discount shelf in a few months. There is just too much (not so)"special" product being stuffed down the channell for what is in the end only a limited number of hard core collectors and speculators. I think they got the supply/demand equation wrong on this one. » » $550-600 for these. Same price as the PSD4 Reservas and they were a » » Robusto! » » » » » Being there one of my favorite cigars, I don't see how they can be » » » improved. For $400 plus change, I'll take 3 boxes of regular #4s. » » Thank » » » you, drive through. » » I might buy a box of these in 3 or 4 years, with 25% discount, as a » favour to a European vendor, if he asks nicely (and begs a little » :-D). » Seriously, I doubt that these will sell. El Presidente Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I will have my pricing next week and stocks shortly afterward. If they are priced at the same $'s as the Partagas D 4 "Reserva" I will be a little surprised. Then again....how much has the US$ dropped since that release....20%-25% ? I am only guessing on the numbers but you need to keep that factor into account. If the price remains the same as the D4...European and Asian buyers will effectively be paying 20% less than the Partagas D 4 Reserva as they will be buying in Euro's or HKD etc.

Retail for the D4 Reserva was 660 CHF. The dollar is down 20% since mid-2005 (compared to the EURO). In which currency do Habanos distributors pay Habanos SA?

greenpimp Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 The price for the PSD4 Reserva was 480 Euros somewhere around the end of March 2005 I believe. I think it "dropped" to that. Of course my memory is quite faulty.

Scottological Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 As a huge fan of this cigar, I nonetheless think it's too expensive to be worthwhile. That said, i can see it being a big marketing success. It is the most popular Habano on the planet and people will be attracted to the pretty, shiny box. Lord knows I am.
ElDiabloBlanco Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 » how much..? 380-420 Euros, depending on where you shop.
GP012 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 » » how much..? » » 380-420 Euros, depending on where you shop. 350 euro in Germany if you don't have to pay VAT.
Colt45 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Kind of a shame - trying to church up an "everyman's" cigar.

jwm8592 Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Hey Prez., are there still any of those Partagas D 4 Reserva's around to be had? I know it's a long shot but thought I'd ask. They came out long before I was privy to the FOH.
El Presidente Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 » similar to the paretagas reserva D4's of 2005 - all leaves aged three » years, balck-lacquered, numbered boxes, double bands etc etc. 5,000 made. » » I have a gut feeling there will be plenty around I can't recall when they were to be released but I do know that it was a decision to appease the Spanish market. Most other markets were cold on the idea.
