finally got to try the zacapa 23 year old centenario.

undoubtedly a seriously good rum, hints of dark treacle. would put it as one of the best i've tried but if had to be ultra critical, would say it is marginally sweeter than i would like and i was surprised that the finish seemed to drop off a little quicker than expected. otherwise, seriously good.

still does not match the santiago 20 anos - i have picked up a bottle of this on each of several visits (best description for me is that it is like alcoholic cream) and this time we tried it on several occasions but everyone, including the back label, insisted it was only 15 years (tho that isn't bad and i still thought it superior to the HC 15, good as that is. checked when back home and mine were definitely 20 years. they were released as anniversary tributes so i am not sure if they were in fact, simply a one-off special and that 15 years is usual or whether they have exhausted their supply of older stocks and brought it back to 15 years.

if anyone has any info....
