Ziggy Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 » How have the Monte #2's been in the 10ct boxes? I'm not sure but I got some steamrolling my way. I hope to know soon. Zig
Zaphod42 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I have a box from early '06 with about 6 of them left. Smoking fine in terms of construction but they still need more time in the humidor. Of the 4 I've smoked from the box, 1 had draw problems but the rest were just fine. You really can't go wrong. I say pick up a box and let it rest for a little while. You'll be happy.
Colt45 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 If you mean versus a box of 25, there should be no difference, in blend, construction, etc. If I recall correctly some discussions we've had here, the cigars are not rolled with final packaging in mind. There was a time when some felt the cabinet version of a cigar was superior to the same cigar in a dress box - I don't have the breadth of experience to give a valid opinion on that matter.
olotti Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 I understand that the blend should all be the same and I understand this is kind of a remedial question but I've bought some #2's before from 15ct boxes and they paled in comparison to others from full boxes. I guess it was just bad luck. I don't know why I would think that these would be that way but I've always been a glasses 1/2 empty kind of guy. Guess I was just looking to hear from some people who have the 10ct boxes that they were as good as I've been hearing just for my own paranoid peace of mind. I guess there is only one way to find out huh.
Colt45 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Olotti, here is a thread on cardboard packs, it may shed a little light: [link=http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/board_entry.php?id=23643&page=0&order=time&category=all.tld/]Link[/link] I've only smoked Montecristo No.5 from five packs, and thankfully had no problems. Remember, always look on the bright side of life!
Jimmy2 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 They are the same as the 25 Ct box no differance go ahead and get them and enjoy them. They have been yummy just like the 25 ct boxes.:-D
marco polo Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I received a 25 ct box with PUT 06 code , and I think almost half the box was plugged with tight draws. I've heard there have been some construction issues, but this was disheartening.:-|

Vavinco Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 » How have the Monte #2's been in the 10ct boxes? I have a box of ten from early 05. They were not too spectacular at first but with time became jewels. This is pretty much my experience with all Monte's though, let them sleep
