I see all these new Aristocrats being purchased, and I'm wondering if one of you fellow FOH'ers would be interested in selling any of your old wine fridges.

I've already got a large hope chest which I converted into humidor a long time ago, but I would now like to invest in an affordable temp-controlled unit (just until I can afford one of those fancy Aristocrats).

Thanks, gang.

New fridges are pretty cheap.

Here is the one I'm eyeing. Large capacity, temp control, and thermoelectric.

So is it any wine fridge will work? I saw one that Target in Australia was selling a 24 bottle wine for $179, and I passed on it thinking that at that price, it wouldn't be the right one for my Habanos?

Usually the thermoelectric fridges are preferred...

I paid a bit over $200 for mine at a Lowe's (in the US), it is a Haier 32 bottle. I think the main thing is that it should have temperature controls that allow you to set fairly high, the one I have can be set at 65 degrees. If the fridge is too cold you won't be able to maintain humidity.

I have the same one but for wine, It is a super nice fridge, and you can manually set the temp asfore stated. It has a nice digital read out in the front. Haier did get top ratings from Consumer reports. I don't know if it is thermo electric or not. I have heard non-thermo electric wine fridges will cause a big swing in the humidity.

Well, I put mine back into service from it's original life...it's actually a good wine cooler...who knew?
