Colt45 Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I love good Bordeaux, and St. Julien is a favorite region. Though 1995 is considered a good, but not great vintage, I have no complaints. A sip after first opening revealed gritty tannins and much oak, but pouring off two glasses, and leaving them for two or so hours let the flavor shine through. Very well balanced, cabernet based - almost boringly great St. Julien. Dark fruit, light vanilla, cedar, etc. A very good wine, and at the time, nicely priced. I don't know that I could afford this one again, and I'm glad I have one more bottle. A great Christmas dinner wine......
skid11 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Off the subject Colt but I just listened to the new 12th man CD "Boned" ....... Richie Benaud apparently has a vineyard in France called "Ver de Flor" and his wine is released under the label " Chateau Ver de Flor" :-) Gotta love that 12th Man:clap:
