asmith Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Sancho Panza Corona Gigante DTF May 03 Churchill Smell at cold: Beautiful soft mushrooms and white pepper nose. Colour: Light tan colour, with a hint of oil shining on the wrapper Cut & Draw: Smooth coca with an easy draw well constructed. Flavours 1/3 Soft velvety smoke with delicate orange and sweet chocolate flavours, a milder cigar which fits in with the Sancho Panza range 2/3 Intensity is building up with a back palate of cinnamon and a dry peat bog flavour. The smoke is almost buttery smooth with a streak of almond flavour. 3/3 Moving into the final third the intensity easing off again and settles into a milder cigar. Still notes of citrus and peat throughout. Final Comment Solid cigar with a couple of years on it. A good burn time for an afternoon smoke when the PRez is at a meeting :-) Drink Matched nicely with an NZ Sauvignon Blanc and an open fire. Smith Scale 1 – 13: A solid 10
Colt45 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Andrew, thanks for the review! My first two tries with this one were on the bitter side. I won't try another until spring.
