Czar House Casino Night /Christmas Pics and review....warning...viewing of pics may shatter illusions of competence ;-)

What a hell of a night! What a hell of a morning

Invited were our thirty top local clients for a Texas Holdem tournament with the winner take all prize being a box of Montecristo Robusto Edicion Limitada 2006. In attendance was also Master Roller from La Corona, Mustellier (Albin) Guillama who got right into the spirit of the event. Add a sprinkling of glamouress hostesses, the best Mojito maker in the country, copious amounts of Havana Club rum, French Champagne, as many Cohiba's as you could smoke ...and pandemonium was always going to be the outcome :-D

Smithy was quick off the mark to dispell the fudge packer rumours.

"No seriously....straight guys can have a moustache like this"

image1668.jpg

Graeme, Arthur, Stefan, and Des...warming up discussing tactics for the tournament.

Cameron, the best Mojito man in the country.

The Mirror Ball was Lisa's idea...I am reliably informed she has one hanging in the bedroom :lookaround:

Speechless

Albin rolled whatever was requested. I was immensely impressed with his work...more of that later.

Card shark extraordinaire Steve Vergotis. I mean....just look at him

A call to the tables!

image1675.jpg

image1676.jpg

image1677.jpg

You have to love "Tex" PJ Byrne at the end of the table. The sharpest dresser of the lot and the the first out :-D

image1678.jpg

After an hour at the table I gave up my seat to good mate Shagga Bowden who arrived late from a Marlin charter. I was chip leader at the time :-D.

I asked Albin to roll me a long panetela which raised an eyebrow as most requests are for Robusto , Pirimide and Churchill. Albin has excellent taste as his favourite cigar is the Por Larranaga Lonsdale. La Corona is where Por Larranaga is made and he has a great appreciation of the blend. What he rolled for me was a peace of art:

image1681.jpg

The Panetela smoked as good as it looked. Rich, caramel sweet....so similar to a Por Larranaga that I doubt I could tell the difference in blends. I smoked 5 on the evening and enjoyed each and every one.

Back to the Party: This is why Lisa should not drink....and no PJ Byrne is Not her husband.

The Tournament winds down to the final table. Effectively every member is a card Shark except Stefan Pichler (pink shirt) who tells us he has never played before ;-)

image1683.jpg

The final three which is Stefan Pichler (left) MJ and Arthur Kassos.

image1684.jpg

The final two.....and we have 1000-1 Tournament outsider Stefan up against pretounament joint favourite MJ

image1685.jpg

The final hand. MJ raises $6000. Stefan is all in. Game on.

image1686.jpg

Stefan pulls a straight and is annointed as our Club Champion 2006

image1687.jpg

image1688.jpg

With the tournament over...everyone refresshed their drinks and headed to the Roulette table...

image1689.jpg

image1690.jpg

However, before long there was a new game in town. Our own Smithy, fuelled on Havana Rum removed Albin from his chair and sat down to roll his own cigar.

image1691.jpg

image1692.jpg

image1693.jpg

He doesn't look half pleased with himself does he :lol2:

Smithy revealing our business plan

image1696.jpg

...yes Smithy...indistinguishable from a Siglo VI :lookaround:

image1697.jpg

Albin visibly relieved at the standard of the Australian competition. All plans to apply fake tan to Smithy and refer to him as Paco from Partagas before presenting him as next years roller have been put into abeyance.

image1698.jpg

It was a great night with laughter aplenty. Thankyou to all who attended and thanks to the tireless team of Lise and Smithy who make everything go like clockwork.

And finally thankyou to Ken Gargett for arriving at 11:30 pm from a major wine function....smashed....and who for half an hour, pulled Albin aside and spoke to him in his best Spanish... as only an inebriated person could. Ken doesn't speak Spanish. Albin speaks fluent English
