For the last year I have been studying to obtain my CCIE certification. I will not bore you with the details, but anyone in the IT industry knows what I am talking about.

I am tired of all of the reading. The late nights pounding on the routers and switches while everyone is sleeping. Tired of the complicated trouble shooting only to find out that I fat fingered a subnet mask. I am tired of turning my keyboard upside down every evening to get rid of the ashes. Tired of all of the acronyms, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VTP, MPLS, VOIP, IPV4, and now IPV6. I miss my family and all of my friends!! It is cold as hell in the garage! I have no time to post here. Did I mention that I do all of this after I pick my girls up at school. I get them home, feed them and bathe them before my wife gets home.

Why should I continue? Will it be worth it to reach the top of the ladder and be recognized amongst my peers? HELL YEAH!!! I can afford to buy more cigars!!

I needed to vent!! I have a 12hr class tomorrow morning. So much for sleeping in on the weekends!!

Thank you for listening!! It really helps.

Keep going, it will all be worth while in the end. Then you can enjoy all the other acronyms: HDM, RA's, JL, SLR, EDM, Bol, Hu's, etc. If not, you might only afford the Guan's.....aaaaaggggghhhhhh:-D

Keep at it Manny. I am always looking for a good man who has completed CCIE (Certificate of Cohiba Excellence) ;-)

Yea it is good to get your CCIE!

I wish I could back, and work on this myself.

I got the following:

MCSE NT 4.0

MCSE 2000

CCNA 1.0

CCNA 2.0

CCDA 1.0

CCDA 2.0

CNA

CCNE

A+

Network +

Linux +

CCA

I would trade all for the CCIE. Next yeay I have to see where I want to go.....I wish I could just work on one thing...big like the CCIE and get paid good for it...

In Miami CCIE get's around 120, 000 a year...

Keep going: It will pay off in the end!
