A good friend and i thought we would check out a local bar out here in Canyon Lake (40 miles out side san antonio, tx). Named "Daisy Dukes" all the bartenders waitresses are tall, blond, and wear blue jean shorts. Any ways, very use to anti-smoking restaurant laws, I figured we would have to smoke on the patio after the meal. Then I noticed ash trays at the bar. :-D

So after some great BBQ and a quick drink, we decided to clip, light, and puff. I took a Taboada Dom P for me and partagas P2 for him out of my travel humi.

A beautiful dark wrapper which extending a few millimeters past the foot. The smell was sensational. It sure did not smell like a fresh cigar.

Right after I lit up i was hit with an initial spice which soon mellowed into a sweet leather and tea. Medium bodied. Very long after taste.

Then i was hit with a chewy blue berry jam flavor which was a first for me :lookaround:

These initial flavors began to dissipate in the last half. It pick up more body and tobacco flavor. Great down to the last nub.

Between the cigar, live music, and great company, i had a very wonderful evening.

I've heard about Taboada's famous hand rolled cigars. I guess he's finally retired now.

The shop in TJ where he rolled so many cigars still have them for sale, pretty cheap too, I think they were only $800 for a bundle

Freakin crazy, and just not worth it IMO.

I've smoked few of the TJ specials. Best constructed cigars, outstanding.

I'm sure few our friends here have bundles aging.;-)

I smoked one of these Monday evening. I do find they are some of the best constructed cigars on the planet but do not find the flavors to be much superior to the factory blends. The latest batch rolled in TJ were way to expensive and not quite worth the money IMHO. Oh don't get me wrong, love to have em but hate to pay for em.
