fm5461d0 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I recently got a box of RyJ Cazadores and noticed upon opening the box that the cigars are sealed in a foil looking bag. Will the bag allow for proper humidification in my coolerdor, or do I need to open the bag? TIA

The humidity will remain consistent with your humidor, but preventing the rapid air exchange may make for better aging potential.
shrink Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Don't open it! The beetles will escape! No, seriously, just leave 'em in the bag... for a long, long time. Now if you're gonna smoke 'em, then you'll have to open the bag.
Colt45 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Purely for the sake of conversation, I figure I should be able to store cigars at home the same way they were packaged and stored (for months or possibly years) before I received them.
fm5461d0 Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 Thanks for the responses. Never thought about the fact that they had already been sitting in the sealed bag throughout the distribution process. Should have looked at the big picture, doh! Again, thanks.
