A recent discussion about the LE’s (I’m a very big fan of many of them) suggested that one of the most disappointing of the range was the Monte ‘C’. Checked past notes and it certainly had failed to impress so thought it time to have another look. What was interesting was that I have a box and several individual sticks (all from Rob) but looking at them, the wrappers on the individual sticks was a much lighter colour - significantly so. Have not tried any from the box but this latest was again underwhelming. There is a real green bean, slightly bitter, almost unripe character to it. The draw was fine and the burn excellent. It is quite powerful and has some woody notes. A little tarry. I’m wondering if a long stint in the humidor will bring them around. It is worth a shot as they are disappointing at the moment. 87.

As noted, I’m a big fan of most of the LE’s - the Cohibas (DC, Sublimes and Pyramide) have all been terrific; so were the other M/C’s; the Hoyo Pyramide was/is brilliant and the Partagas, especially that first pyramide, have been wonderful. Are others as impressed? I have seen a few comments where some members are less excited. Any favourites or dislikes?

Hey Dude,

I am presently in my Gentlemans retreat enjoying a Cohiba DCEL. It is a fine smoke but I am sure a year or two would make it better. I have had mixed experience withe Monte C EL. Rob sent me a few as samplers and they were tight as bricks. The flavor was all cream and nothing but, not impressed. He told me a box was a must have and I did. I am pleased that the construction is much improved and the initial taste test showed more depth and hope. I had another a couple nights ago and it was very nice. Multiple flavors showed up with the cream and I have decided not to throw away the mess.

I love both the R&J Herm #1 and the Part SD1, dark, sexy and all that.

I can't wait to get the Sublimes

You guys are hilarious!

I have Mel dressed as a decoy rooster smoking a Cohiba DCLE at the lodge and Ken " I still can't find page 2 of the forum or post under Review section" lecturing me!

I will say this once: I have never sold a plugged cigar....comfortably full maybe....but plugged never :lookaround:

I like the Monte C. I like it alot. They are laced with cocoa and cream and are light to medium bodied. The last I enjoyed was at Kingslcliffe in early February when I was practicing my fly for Cuba. I do not think it is an evening cigar. Right now it is an excellent late morning, lunch cigar. Very similar to the Le Hoyo range of HDM.

I love most all of the LE's that I have tried. Maybe I am a sucker for the "LE" marketing. Wrap a **** of ****, put a coloful wrapper and a gold LE band on it and sell me a box. Oh don't forget to charge extra for them.

I am having the First Lady track done some R&J Hermosos #2LE for me.

By the way all. I am a turkey(Gobbler),big spurs, big beard ,big ----. not a Rooster.
