anacostiakat Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Scored some of these recently and couldnt wait to try one. Great presentation. White tube. Beautiful stick. Nice oily wrapper with no blemishes. Churchill and DCs are my favorites. Punched it and the notice it had a firm draw. First 1/2 inch was a little tight. Had to work it some but after that it opened up and provide nice amount of smoke and lots of vanilla bean flavor. Continued to get more of the beany flavor with some tanginess (saltiness maybe?) underlying through the middle and down to the ring. The last 2 inches really picked up the intensity. Kind of a mild spiciness without getting harsh. Making it difficult to pace myself. A medium cigar, nice nose and loaded with flavor. Very enjoyable and it paired up nicely with the Elmer T Lee bourbon I was sippin'. Damn good cigar!
Colt45 Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I just got a couple (non tube) that I'm looking forward to trying. I thinking of doing a Churchill / DC comparison over an upcoming weekend. Thanks for the review!
Mel Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I have a box of non tubed and they are great when you want a mild easy smoke. I find them a bit to mild for my everday taste. Thanks for the review.
bassman Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Never hear much about this cigar. I'm greatly enjoying the non tubed version from 2001. Not a powerhose, but a complex tasty cigar.
