habanohal Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I am beginning to suspect that they are identicle to the Hermosa #4. Just a quarter inch shorter. I have been smokeing both of them on and off, and can come to no conclusion of them being differant at all. Any others fell this way???

I find that the R&J Short Churchill closely emulates in flavour the R&J Exhibicion No 4 and the R&J Churchill. Medium full body with that hint of black cherry sweetness. They have been remarkably consistent in this flavour profile.
Black Plague Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I bought a box and to me they seemed to be a trifle-bit more full-bodied than the Ex. #4 with a slightly more intense floral flavor and significantly more full-bodied than the Churchill with more floral and cedar than what I experience in the Churchie (which to me has more toasted tobacco and some coffee/cocoa notes to it). BTW I bought a box to split with some BOTL and with hardly any age on it it knocked my freakin' socks off! :-D

More full-bodied than either the Ex4 or the churchill. Then again, I've never had a young Ex4.
dragon Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I've only tasted one so far, but I thought it tasted similar to the RyJ Belicosos only not quite as spicy.
PorscheC4S Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I got 2 of these a couple of months ago and smoked one after 2 or 3 weeks of resting. The second about a week ago. I've never had an R&J Churchill and haven't had a Ex 4 in about 3 months, so I can't really compare them to the shorts. I found them to be very satisfying, but can't taste the cherry that others have reported. My question is whether or not the short churchill has been widely released, and if not will it be and when. They don't appear to be widely available. What is the present and future status of their availability?
Fia Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Great...another cigar to add to my must have list.:-D
avid toker Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 » Great...another cigar to add to my must have list.:-D Can't say that when I smoked a few of mine that it knocked my socksoff. A bit muted but definitely tasted similar to a Churchill. Time will do these wonders I think.
