nic
Hey everyone - Been awhile since I've posted. Whoops! I'm looking for the best cuban corona sized smoke. My 2 favorite smokes are the BBF and the HdM Petit Robusto, so the sizes from those 2 names are the top of my list. Before I make an order, any suggestions? Love the community you've built here El Presidente (and crew), thanks!

cigardawg
What a great question at a great time. I am currently in the market for some corona-sized smokes. Am anxiously awaiting to hear the consensus. On a similar note, what are everyone's thoughts on the Punch Corona specifically?

I Love the Punch coronas.:-) But Partagas is my second choice. the punch needs a full five years to reach maturity. The Partagas seems to be ready earlier, around 3 years. Though this is for my palate, and taste is subjective. I will say that one of the best coronas I have ever smoked, was a Punch from 98. Dave (A.K.A. purosdave
1- Upmann Coronas (I am very partial to the Upmann lineup) 2- RyJ Coronas 3- Partagas Coronas
stevejb
In this order for me: RA's------if you can find any Partagas----they need time to develop, but when on they're primo. Upmann----have some from 96 that are treasures. Siglo III----good fresh Bolivar-----i like all Bolis aside from the BBF.
harwellplant
i think a lot of the robaina famliares and sancho panza offerings. to me, the partagas is good against the others within that vitola, but is lacking in complexity across the partagas marque. it is straightforward and with little complexity, imo. a darkhorse candidate for me would be the qdo, for an extreme change of pace. Well Armed
» 1- Upmann Coronas (I am very partial to the Upmann lineup) Another vote for the Upmann Coronas. Although I don't see them around anymore. Are they discontinued? I have never checked.

phxkev
I enjoy a good Mexican Corona. Ice cold. With a lime in it. I hear it's made with urine. Unlike the Cuban coronas which are made with love.
CWS
Bolivar Partagas Siglo III But I'm partial to Boli's:-)

nic
» I'm looking for the best cuban corona sized smoke. Ok, showing my newbie-ness here. I was think cigars in the size range of the Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure NO.1, not the smaller traditional coronas (got plenty in that size). Do the recomendations still stand? Thanks guys! There are still 00 out and about and I have heard good things about them as well. I am still avoiding the 99 and 00 smokes like the plague, my loss I am sure. habanolover
I know this has shifted to corona gordas now...but El P, I can't beleive you left out the venerable SLR corona. I'm a self confessed Partagas freak, but SLR has really gained my respect and attention this year. What are your thought on the SLR corona, if any? I also vote for the SLR serie A in the CG format...never thought I'd fall for a smoke with "animal" in it's taste profile But truth is, imho, the A is magic;-) » Partagas Corona » Bolivar Corona » Montecristo No 3 » Diplomatico No 3 » Punch Corona » » I still think the first two are the stand out Corona cigars. pharmgator
I really enjoy the Quai d'Orsay corona. Mild to medium in flavor, well priced. An excellent morning smoke IMO.
stever
Just smoked and reviewed an ERDM Corona De Luxe from Mar '05. Very good cigar. Not sure it is the best corona I've ever smoked, but it definitely ranks up there. Surprisingly good, easy smoke for as young as it is.
