hi jimmy, apols, have been away (still am). if i ever miss any of your posts, please drop me a rude reminder. grange is the great aussie red, though it is in a style loved by some, less by others. good ones are superb wines. 92 is a good example (the one that gets the kudos is 1990 tho i think 91 better) but it is a lesser vintage. if stored well, will still be drinking very well and should do so for another five, may be more, years. auction here, it is probably $300ish.

Drank it tonite at the lounge i did not like it that much but other's loved it.

Also drank a SASSICAIA BY TENUTA SAN GUIDO..1988..BOLGHERI-SASSICAIA , TUSCANY , ITALY which was a dream in the making excellent that's all i can say..

Now drinking Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot 1997 i will sleep like a baby tonite.

Can't smoke cigars until Friday taking blood test for life insurance man do i want to smoke badly.

But i was told not to for at least a week before the blood test...

Of course...now that you are drinking 3 bottles of wine per day the blood test will certify you as an alcoholic with high risk of sclerosis of the liver ;-)

sass is one of italy's (the world's?) great wines. 88 a good one and it should have been about perfect with this much age. if you ever get a chance to try the 1985, it is worth killing for. one of the greatest wines ever made (wine spec had it as italy's second best wine behind a 1955 bioni-santi from memory). 1997 also superb. most of the last decade excellent.

the pahlmeyer - can't remember if we have discussed it - has huge wraps in usa - i have never seen one - and 97 was a great napa vintage.

just talking to a mate who drank the 88 sass last weekend. loved it.
