Jimmy2 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Hey Ken how good is this wine its from 1997. My partner at work has a hook up and gave it to me for free. Also is giving me a Shiraz Australia wine and he told me they only made about 2,000 cases (or bottles) of it very rare he said. Man i am running into some nice luck latly with the wine.
phxkev Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I liked the 97. It is an excellent wine though I have always found Opus One to be somewhat minty (more so in earlier vintages). Wine Spectator rated it 94. Enjoy!
Ken Gargett Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 jimmy there will be plenty of guys more familiar with opus one than myself from over your way. the few i've seen have been very good and from what i know of local vintages, 97 is one of the best (had a 94 dominus the other day which was exceptional). be keen to see what the aussie shiraz is.
