BigSlick Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I received the package today at lunch. Opening the box revealed a large wooden crate with the typical Habanos stamp on one side and the 510th shield on the other. I eyeballed it for about 5 minutes trying to figure out how to dismantle the crate without marring it. I found my gameplan and operated on it like a skilled surgeon. The opened crate housed a grey cardboard box, much like the ones that house the top of the line cigars like the Monte A's or the Sublimes. I slid the inner box out and opened the lid. MAN! The humidor was encased in a heavy smooth satin like cover with a round leather 510th badge sewn into it. I carefully removed the humidor and was floored once again. This humidor is one of the nicest objects I have ever owned. Opening the lid I became confused. A flat panel on the inside? I pulled at the sides to reveal that there is an inner box that lifts out. I had remembered seeing a post on whats >wrong with this picture< by Lisa and someone had stated that the corners were not lined up. I dragged my hand against the flat panel to reveal that it slid out sideways. Holy Sh!t. Under the flat panel was the storage area for the cigars! I noticed the bottom of the inner box was slotted. The humdification devices are housed just under the slots of the inner box. Inside the inner box is a small satin Habanos pouch with a key in it and a gold embossed 510th Anniversary card. The construction of this humidor is top notch. It is actually a work of art. Habanos went as far as having the hinges stamped with their logo. The air seal is fantastic as well. As I ran my hand across the saitin lined on the bottom I was startled to instant reality by the odd sound of a giggling little girl. I realized it was me giggling. I left my house to go back to work beaming. I cannot believe how beautiful this humi is! I am absolutely astonished by the generosity, goodwill and overall experiences I have had to date with this forum, with CC and especially with Lisa. You all may get tired of hearing it, so I am going to say it once again. :-D You guys are second to none. I will post pictures soon. Thanks to all that gave congratulations. Thank you Rob, Lisa and eeeesssspppeeeecciiiaaaallllyyy Smithy! Hope you enjoy the stick I got you. TD

cvm4 Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Damn that's very nice looking! And you can fit a lot of cigars in there, it seems, if you take out the tray.
genevapics Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Congrats once again. Beautiful looking humidor. And yes, Cigar Czar is the best! Enjoy it BigSlick.
stogies&hoagies Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 » WOW! That is one nice humi. :-P :-P » » Enjoy it Tom! Sweet. I can't wait for my San Cristobal humidor to arrive. I am in the process of building a cigar room out by the pool. Brick, 20 x 20, 14 ft cieling, AC/ Heat, full bathroom, wet bar, fridge, 50 inch TV, surround sound. The humi will make an excellent centerpiece.

Not legally. Smokin Lightenin and I are working on putting something together to make customized signs, but the cost is high and we may run into copyright problems. Perhaps Rob can get me the contacts we may need to put something together. ;-) Mine is the only one in existence. SL didn't even make one for himself. Unselfish Bastard!
SmokinLightning Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Can't sell that sign. Not only would it probably violate copywrite laws, but I'm damn sure it will violate the "non-competitive business" clause in my employee file... lol Just wanted to make something cool and one-of-a-kind for my bro for his bday, since he's so generous (well, not really), and kind (actually he's kind of a jackass), and easy to get along with (in reality, I really hate the prick)... why the hell did I give you that again??? :-P

Store them? Oops... Youre right about the cooking, I'm trying to get her to come live with me and Stacey, you can fricken starve. :-D
