Yeah sure---when they came in year's ago they were almost lousy ('02's)!! Hell, I was giving 'em away left and right 'cuz they were "too strong" and burned a tad irregular. The flavor profile just wasn't what I was used to.

Well, I need my head examined. With only a smattering left, tonight I dug a bit deep after a friend and I discussed this cigar. Shhhhhhhhheeeeeeeip was it outstanding!! TONS of smoke!! Perfect burn!! Creamy--woody, earthy, you name it--it was in there!

WHY didn't I trust all who said this rare bird would turn into something magical!!

Thankfully I didn't dispose of my Partagas Lonsdale cabs when THEY displayed similar youthfulness and less-than-stellar experiences. They too are now "flavor bombs."

Live and learn.

To me, one of the beautiful aspects of being a cigar connesieur is observing the maturity of my pallette coupled with the patience of knowing what is good or average may well be spectacular with age and/or wisdom of my tastes. So much to look forward to with CC as a source, good humi's, and reviews like this to remind me not to hand out my young, sub-average cigars. ;-)

WHEW, I'm wore out now!:-D

 Sooooooo true.

I have always found that the best cigars you have are the ones you have given away

That is always a danger. I too have fallen victim to judging a cigar prematurely, smoking 'em, gifting 'em or sampling and not buying. What can ya do?!?

Not to add salt to open cut, but I hear the RACs are going for about $1000 a cab now.
