Does any of our members in Brisbane know any places in Brisbane that are Cigar Friendly? I am trying to find a nice bar/restaurant where I can enjoy a cigar without being stung with the eyes of 100 angry patrons. I have been unable to find anywhere (that doesnt require a gold amex) that I can smoke my cigars. Of late I have given up smoking in public and just smoke at home in the backyard. Trust me in winter a cigar has to be bloody good to get me into my backyard. Hence why I want to find somewhere that I can smoke.

Please all Brisbane members, please let me know of your favourite bars that allow cigar smoking. I might even meet some of you there from time to time.

Kindest of regards

Hrmm not easy I know!

Frist that comes to mind is "The Press Club" in the Valley and the second is, well shall I just say "The Velvet" on Caxton street.

The problem with the velvet is no one will beleive you if you say you're there for the grandfather port, Cohibas' and chesterfield couches. Trust me.

Ohh and Cru bar on james street, just point over the road and say it's Rob's fault, he said it was ok. :lol2:

certainly not rob's humidor! go in there after a pleasant but dignified friday lunch and next morning you have rob on the blower congratulating you for completing the college fund for his kids (and his neighbours' kids) and all you have to show for it is three plugged cigars and a headache.

and good luck with that credit card, boss!

Does anyone know what effect the draconic new anti-smoking laws in NSW are going to have on Sydney's few remaining Cigar Establishments?

Basically smoking has been banned (except for a small designated area) in all Clubs & Licensed Premises.

It means that next time you go into a club, 80% of the patrons will be crammed into the smoking section :) All the clubs/bars I visit seem to be full of ciggarette smokers.

Anyone care to list some cigar friendly clubs/bars in Sydney? I know the bars in the casino are cigar friendly...not sure where else.

I doubt that Joe because 90% of Pubs for one are electing to have their gaming room as the smoking room because that is where they make their money. I don't know about you but sitting in front of a bloody pokie with surrounding racket is not my idea of a relaxing enviroment in which to smoke & socialise.

The Casino as of last Monday has banned smoking in all but the high rollers room.

Does that include the bars at the casino?

Apparently so.

I've not been there myself to check yet. But I've heard that the ENTIRE Star City Casino (except the High Rollers Room) is now smoke free.
