Tave1225 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Cohiba Robusto- 4 7/8" x 50 - Dec. '04 Wrapper was smooth, oily and had no noticeable veins. Firm to the touch with no soft spots. The pre-light aroma was cedary. Gave it a guillotine cut. From the beginning the cigar was very nutty and spicy, but remained a great smoke throughout. Very complex with many flavors or "nuances" I'm unable to identify. Coffee in the middle, grassy towards the end and not to forget woody and spicy all the way through. I found it to be full-bodied. I think if I had not had a large Lunch it may have given me a buzz. Burn and draw were perfect. Never had to touch up. I nubbed the cigar and it was a shame because it was going like a champ. Very creamy and tons of smoke. The ash was gray that held well. This Robusto is a bit pricey and many others may perfer other Robustos to this one. I loved it and would buy a box again. Great smoke. One of the better Robustos that I've smoke.
El Presidente Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Excellent review and our second Cohiba Robusto review for the weekend That grassiness is a sign of youth. It is interesting to see how youth manifests itslef in so many different ways. The potential however is there for all to see.
