Hey guys. My first review so I thought I would review the last cigar I smoked - a Bolivar Petit Corona from 1997.

This was the first time I had tried a Boli PC, but I had heard some nice things about them. This was the first cigar from a box I have, finally thought it was time to break these guys out. The initial inspection revealed very good, uniform construction as could be said for most of the remaining sticks from my cursory look.

Cut and toasted the PC and lit it. Very nice draw with a large volume of smoke. Started out kind of non-descript, but quickly gave way to sweetish/woodsy taste that I very much enjoyed. I also detected a chocolate-like taste in the first third.

I could detect some spice early one but was really hit with some spice about one-third to half way through which kind of caught me off gaurd a bit. The PC was a bit more powerful than I expected. However, the cigar maintained the pleasant woodsy flavor (if at times in the background) throughout.

Overall the Boli PC was great. I was very happy with the taste and there were pretty much no burn problems to speak of. If the rest of the box is as good as these I will be one happy man (well, maybe regretful I only have one box...)!

A cigar I truly enjoy (and don't have enough of).

Pound for pound, I find this one of the most potent Havanas -

one that can knock you on your azz if smoked too quickly.

Thanks for the review.

Nice review! I definitely love the boli profile and certainly like these sticks. According to rob, recent production is excellent and I'd have to agree!

Nice review, I love the Bolivar Petit Corona!

I have been slowly working my way through a box of 98s and have a box of 97s that I have not cracked open yet because I want them to be 10 years old when I do open them, It has not been easy letting them sleep for the past couple of years buried deep in the cabinet humidor!

Great Review, jjk!! I have a half box from 97 and a full from 03. Lucky thing I am sick with a respiratory infection so smoking any cigar at this point would be useless since my taste buds and olfactory senses are shot!! If I wasnt, I would have hit the cooledor for one from 97 right about now.

Get well crossbow. Nasty chit.

Great review! Boli PC is a classic. A great box is something to cherish and few petit corona's will come close. Siglo II and Por Larranaga are the only others which IMHO consistently stand alongside.

I haven't had a Boli that I can say impressed me. I will try the 97 Boli PCs. If these still don't do it, I think it's really time to give up on the Boliline.
