Punch Super Selection No. 2

Ring gage: 46 x 5 5/8 inches, Style: Gran Corona

Accompaniment: Fundador Spanish Brandy

It was a week ago that I had the opportunity to experience this fabulous cigar (thanks to a very generous FOG who gifted me this excellent smoke). This Punch SS2 was from 2001 and had a very smooth, vein less, dark chocolate brown wrapper with a rich cedar pre-lit aroma.

Upon lighting & taking that first draw I immediately experienced a light taste of coco with sweet hints of cinnamon. This continued the first inch of the cigar then suddenly I was hit in the mouth by a warm blast of cinnamon cappuccino and mocha that became so intense at times I would have to wipe the drool from the corners of my mouth.

This profile continued and was accompanied by a splash of cherrys & dark chocolate fading in and out.

By the time I reached the last 1/4th of this exquisite cigar I was in a state of bliss! Now flavors of moist, fresh earth began to join the flavor profile along with subtle hints of white chocolate that lingered until the bitter sweet end. I nubbed this SS2 down to about 1 mm and enjoyed every moment (burnt lips and all). Many thanks to the generous BOTL who gifted me this incredibly delicious cigar.

Ah man wish I could get my hands on more.

Ah man wish I could get my hands on more. They're still out there, in cabs of 50.

» It is a magnificent cigar. Last produced 2002 :crying:

Very nice review. IMHO, this is the best of the best among the corona gordas. Fantastic cigars.

And yes, I agree with Rob...:crying: Alas, they are a dying breed.
