idesign Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Anyone here play at Bandon Dunes before? I'm taking a trip in June with a bunch of friends. It's in my backyard and I've never been before, but I'm SOOOOO looking forward to it. We're playing all three courses (more than once). In case you're not familiar with this Links mecca, here's a link..... http://www.bandondunesgolf.com/

I have never played a beach course. I'd love a chance to shank one off into the ocean. I've put a ball in just about every other type of body of water. :-P Looks like it will be a fun and challenging course to play. Have fun and hit'em well.
idesign Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 It's in Southern Oregon, I can't wait. The two older courses are regularly in Golf Digests Top Ten courses...... It was hard to talk the wife into the monetary aspect, but not that hard. ;-) I'll be the second worst player going, so I have that going for me....:-D Most of them are scratch or maybe 3-4 handicapps. I'm like a 15, 14 on a good day.......:-|
purosdave Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Plan on lots of wind, but usually very warm and beautiful up here that time of year. I haven't played them personally, I would probably get kicked off the course or run out of balls. LOL I have played a few courses down in S. Oregon (just a few hours from Portland) and enjoyed them all.

As far as meeting up, there is a group of locals getting together at the HorseBrass Pub on the 25th after work (about 5:30) and you are more than welcome to join us. Feel free to e-mail me for more information. We usually get together once a month with our biggest event the last weekend of July, coinciding with the Oregon Brewers' Festival.

cvm4 Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Man seems like a challenging course. I always hit the sand bunkers and water for some reason
vasmoker Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I've played there...in Aug '99 when the first course was about 3 months new. It is a beautiful place...I can't imagine how any golfer could go there and not just absolutely be in heaven. Have a great trip!
