Ken Gargett Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 on the still not unreasonable assumption that the good guys will retain the ashes (i'm predicting 5-0 unless weather interferes, though will concede that the poms have a habit of winning the occasional dead rubber), any thoughts on the cigar you'd smoke to celebrate that final day's play (hopefully about day 3 of the third test)? i'd be inclined to think SLR DC with whatever age i can muster.

When I 1st read Ken's post - I just figured that the reason I didn't have a clue as to what he was talking about was all of those 'special' substances that we all brewed up or grew in our Undergraduate college days finally catching up with me. ;-)
rumrogue Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 Ken, What you reckon? 10 SLRDC's say the Pommes win. Over to you cobber.
Ken Gargett Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 greetings the vatican, sorry for the delay - just back. just to get the ground rules right, is the wager (and i am appalled to think that betting is going on between members of a dignified forum such as this) that australia retain the ashes? i'll definitely have 10 slr dc's on that (if that is not it, we can negociate). poms will be lucky to win a toss. the bet is on one condition - that rob does the right thing (stop laughing) and that i get my cab of slr dc's when they come out end of the year - without that, it is all a bit academic.
rumrogue Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 No worries, Ken. Still "plugging" away then? I hate cricket, but I love a laugh & winding okker's up! How dare you. This ain't betting. This is charitable donations. OK. If Ponting's Poofs pull it off I donate 10 SLRDC's to a charity of your choice. If they loose you donate 10 SLRDC's to a charity of my choice. Fair go? Agreed. It is all off if EL P can't find his arse in the dark.
Ken Gargett Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 we have a charitable situation. i'll make space in my humidor. the poms will not know what hit them. only weather will stop five zip.
rumrogue Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 No response in 14 days? Would suggest no one seems to know what the flying leg-over you're on about, mate. (Blame the parents). Having finally discovered the sensuous delights of Miss SLRDC flavours I would concur with your selection. Even if she looked like Granny out of Playboy. (Myrtle! Hey! Myrtle? Can I say that here, honey?)
rumrogue Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Not in recent mamory. But we live in Hope.
