CIGARHead Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Nice review skid. I def like the Monte 4. Most Ive tried have been damn good, though Ive had a few **** ones. Always like a few cigar pics in a review, great job!
genevapics Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Very nice review skid11. I haven't tried these yet, but they are on my list.
cigardawg Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Great review! Love the pictures. The Montecristo No. 4 has just never done anything for me. So many marevas that better suite my palate.
SuperT Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Great review, thanks for the pics. It is one of my favorite cigars in my favorite size. I've yet to have a 'bad' one, and I've smoked my share. Some are a bit better than others, but I find them to be consistant (I know, I'm in the minority).
cigarnv Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Very nice review! I really like the pics. I have always enjoyed the Monte #4 given it is a great size, well priced and for the most part has always delivered for me. I am going through some 04's & 05's that are very nice smokes. I find them to be far better than their reputation.
El Presidente Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Well done mate! The Monte 4 was the most improved cigar of 2005. It was as if Habanos sat down and said " If we are going to change the perception of Cuban quality...we need to start with the Montecristo Number 4" For those that have shied away....don't.
Spud2 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Nice review, with multi-media touches! Whens the video coming out, with smell-a-vision? :-D

hazleem Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Great review! I love the Monte 4s... never had a bad one yet :-D

I must agree with Rob here. Though for me, the Monte 4 has NEVER let me down. In the 12 years I have been smoking them, not one has EVER been bad. Pretty amazing I say :-D
skid11 Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Thought I'd add a review on this old favourite, I was going to say typical montecristo no 4 but nothing is typical with these as I've had dogs and I've had diamonds in this Mareva format. Ring Gauge 42 Length 129mm Great construction, nice sheen, not to spongy and a nice unlit fragrance. Top selling cuban cigar looking good Tail or foot with consistent leaf blend construction Cap construction great Messy cut..... must get a new cutter End after cut.... ligero tunnel ? Nice ash after 1/3rd Still going strong 2/3rd's Goodbye ol' friend Unravelled stub, amazing quantity of leaf This was not an over complex cigar but sometimes "I smokes and thinks and sometimes I just smokes" this had great woody, chocolate and creamy flavours which made it a very pleasing experience. Great draw, burn and volumes of smoke, no nasty surprises in the last third. This was a single from an '05 box and although it would benefit from a bit of age it was still a wonderful cigar right now. Must order somemore 89/100
