DocRKS Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 My wife is away in the Chicago area for about 2 weeks helping out her sister (who really has her hands full, the poor dear) so I am living the life of a Bachelor for a while... During a phone call - she asked if the house is still recognizeable - she knew I just hosted our 1st Outdoor Herf of the season this weekend ... I asked her in my most sincere and amazed tone, why is it that women think that men can't keep a house clean ? ---I gave her an example to illustrate my point and to ease her mind.... " I dropped something on the floor -and as soon as I saw it --- I called the dog over and lo and behold - it was gone !!!! so there !!! The floor never looked better !

strayvector Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 When the wife is away, I make sure that I don't clean too well. I don't want her to raise her expectation of my cleaning abilities.
CIGARHead Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 :rotfl:nice Roman... my wifey knows better that to disapoint herself by calling to ask if all is good at home. she knows she will not like the answer...ing machine.
Smokin Bulldog Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 I tell my wife that we live in a union household and cleaning is not in my job description. I always plan to sleep on the couch after that!
NJLimoDriver Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 »Thank God I have a dog - my girls never clean :-)
Havana Joe Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Luckily for me, my wife is a cleaning fanatic....Every Sat and Sunday morning, she'll clean the house...That's when I retreat to the backyard for a smoke.;-)
DocRKS Posted April 4, 2006 Author Posted April 4, 2006 » When the wife is away, I make sure that I don't clean too well. I don't » want her to raise her expectation of my cleaning abilities. I have that covered as well ---- right before she gets back, I do a small wash --but somehow I always forget to separate those colored things and I'm not sure about that bleach --so I add a little (if it wasn't good - they wouldn't sell it !!! - that's what I figure...);-) I make sure only 1 item of hers is ruined, er, I mean washed - after that diverts her attention for a while - there is never any mention of how the house looks - she just assumes EVERYTHING is in a FUBAR state and proceeds to get things back to the way she likes them.... I, of course, sulk off to the deck or study with a Double Corona ....and contemplate how I could have done better for next time...:-D
SuperT Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Funny, in my house, I'm the one that cleans. My wife thinks I have a titch of OCD - but things have to be clean, organized and in place or I go nuts. I vacuum every day, keep the dishwasher loaded (if not run) or un-loaded (if clean), wipe the counters, dust, and put all the loose stuff away. I'm a neat/clean freak and I guess I might just have that touch of OCD. When she is out of town, the house is actually MUCH cleaner than when she is here.
Mel Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Dog really is mans best friend. My wife complains a bit about how she cleans and I cause mess. I say we have a perfect balance. If she continues, and she does, I ask if I should move out. She says no but asks me not to mess up the place. I say I will and that is that until again.
dogbreath Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 » When she is out of town, the house is actually MUCH cleaner than when she » is here. So true, but I will never admit it. :-)

SuperT Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 » Yo T my wife want to know if your available for rent:-D Is the humidor accessible for 'payment'?
maestro Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I've given up cleaning. Too many places, too little time. I just throw the dirty clothes on the floor and use them as furniture pieces. To me, it's all about how you sell and package the dirt.

Wiley Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I'm kind of a clean freak. That's the Yin. The Yang is that I'm supremely lazy. What can you do? My wife, however, is both a clean freak and not lazy, and is skilled in the arts of motivation. It's okay, I kind of like the whip. :-P
