» shoot me a pm.

My wife and I will be heading to San Antonio in Sept. We'll be visiting Fredricksburg and Austin. I'll let you know when it gets closer.

I "lived" in Houston for 4 months while training for a job, does that count? If it helps - I love Jerry Jeff Walker and have drank my share of Shiner. . .:lol3:

For sure Clark. Perhaps we can get something going at Cool River on a Saturday night. I'll throw something together in a few weeks.

I grew up in a little town called Edna on Highway 59 about 100 miles west-southwest of Houston. Went to school in Austin and lived in San Antonio until about 7 years ago. I'm born and bred Texan. Might come back someday...never can tell.

Lived outside of Houston (The Woodlands) from 1982-1989, went to UT and lived in Austin from 1989-1996, then back to southwest Houston from 1996-2004.

One day, I will make my triumphant return.

Edna, I used to go fishing at Lake Texana all the time. Did you know Stone Cold Steve Austin?

Used to fish in Lake Texana all the time as well. Mainly ran trot-lines and set lines. Caught a few bass, but much prefer catfish.

I actually went to high school with Steve. His actual last name is Williams...his mothers maiden name was Austin and he thought it sounded better as a wrestling name. Steve was 3 years ahead of me, so I was actually only in school with him for a year. My mother, however, worked for his dad on a part time basis. I also went to school with his two brothers and his sister. Growing up, he was nothing like the guy you see on television...he was actually a shy jock. Great football player and all-state in the discus.

i just wanted to top this thread because i'll be playing a show in austin on 5/31 at hill's cafe in south austin on congress (south of 290). the show starts at 8pm and we'll play until about 10pm and it's a FREE show with no cover charge.

if any of you can make it i'll be there from about 3pm onward. oh yeah, in case you're not familiar with this venue it's an outside show so smoking isn't a problem. here's the website's for the venue and the artist i play with:
