Got a box of these from the Prez & Co. a few months ago and I'm very happy I did. This cigar was well constructed except for a bit of a hard spot near the band. The wrapper was a pale colorado beauty, near claro, with a nice glossy sheen to it.Pre-light draw was unassuming with a touch of mown hay and the faintest taste of spice.Upon lighting I was a bit miffed at how nondescript this cigar tasted, but that changed. The initial taste had subtle floral notes,a faint touch of spice and a slight grassiness that I had tasted before lighting. The initial volume of smoke was disappointing and this seemed to be caused by the hard spot near the band.I massaged the cigar a bit as I was smoking it and as it warmed up it stared exhibiting a pleasant tangy sweetness, that along with the mown hay and faint spice were predominant until 1/3 of the way through. That's when I started to pick up asain spices, nice toasty wood notes, and a hint of light sweet mocha. The rest of the cigar was a further amplification of these flavors in a perfect harmony.I was sad to see it gone but gone it was ...to the nub. :-D A wonderful stick and very unique in it's taste,it shows how diverse the flavors and styles of Habanos can be.I'll have to get another box soon...these are going rather quickly. :-P

My score for this was 89.Had it not been for the hard spot near the band that hindered it early on,it would've undoubtedly scored in the 90's :-)

Happy smoking,everyone!

JL is one of my favorite brands, very consistent and with a smooth complexity.

Many guys don’t like as much as they find it too mild.

I wonder how these compare to the rest of the JL vitolas. I like the S1/S2 a lot. I don't find them too mild flaover-wise. They just don't make your mouth numb at the end which is just fine sometimes.

You said it...smooth complexity.Who keeps saying that

you have to get beaten over the head by your cigar to say,"Wow,that was a damn fine smoke!". :-|

Mikey, received an 03 box recently from Lisa. Had one the other day and experienced a fantastic smoke which alternated between spice, cocoa and vanilla flavors. Fortunately I didn't have have a plug, and construction was excellent. I'd give it a 92/100.

Thanks for the review.

Means it's a mild to medium smoke but with complexity in it, flavors. A very good milt to medium smoke.

Sit down and learn kiddo.

One of my favorite morning smokes. Loved the first box so much that I bought another. First box was top notch, but unfortunately, about half of the second box had very tight to plugged draws. Still love the flavor though.
