I've noticed recently that Romeo y Julieta cigars from about 2004 onward have been super dark. Romeos are normally at least a colorado, but the ones I've seen recently have all been maduros! Lines one up against a Partagas SD#2 EL to compare, and the Romeo was even a little darker than that!

Anyone else noticed this trend, or is it just me?

Either way, I'm not complaining one bit! :-)

Colorado light brown on mine. 2005 Churchhills, 04 Exhibition #4, Petite juliettas, and 05 Cazadores.

The only darker would be the ELs that I have noticed

The wrapper shades are all over the place. As a rule however, all cigars are darker in all Marques since approx 2003.

I should have some information over the coming weeks on the timeline of different Tobacco used since 1998. A new strain of Cuban tobacco is introduced at a minimum of 7 years. 2-3 strains are generally running concurrently.

My 05 box of Churchhills are your average Colorado color. Now I just recieved a box of the MontyC ELs', and the wrappers on these are very, very dark and oily. My favorite!!
