Use the perpetual post padding thread to pad perpetually your posts (sensational alliteration :-D )

Don't disrupt the flow of the forum for your own benefit.

Sleeper..... you have been warned :surprised:

in all seriousness, yes. post padding makes reading the threads stupidly tedius at times. its great to welcome newbies and to chime in on the threads, but it seems as if one could say "my cat bit my ass this morning" and ten padders will heap on with "too bad" or "great to hear" or "thanks for the info". wtf?

here's a proposal. if you post pad, any specials you could hope to acheive through your post count will be replaced with drew estate "eggs", which you will be forced to smoke BEFORE you are allowed to post again.

» Post Padding is completely shameless.....

How about getting rid of the post count specials thing altogether and just maintaining a list of people you think contribute on a genuine level?? I just looked on another forum I have been a member of for a couple of years and I still don't have over 200 posts but every one of them was meaningful, informative, or worthwhile.

Quality. Not quantity. And, it is best to remain quiet less thee open thy mouth and remove all doubt.

You have just screwed me with that quality thing.;-)

Post padding is just that posting without substance. Many of us have posted less than earth shaking eternal truths but not all the time. Certainly the Prez. is not an idiot and taken advantage of.

Have fun, share knowlege and talk cigars.

... I would NEVER pad my posts... well, ok, maybe just once.

btw, everything I see in here is quality, I

guess.

Thanks for the warning Rob! My apoligies for disrupting the flow of the board. It is interesting that all the welcome posts were lined up before I started topping/welcoming.

It probably wasn't worth the time anyway and was more of a - I am bored and on call at the hospital waiting for a case to begin.

It seems difficult to get that many posts, but I plan on staying with this board for a long time, so it's kind of fun to continually work on my posts and keep up with everyone.;-)

True.

Regrettably, it is encouraged by your host's linking specials etc. to post count. If you don't want post padding, don't reward it!

I appreciate a man who can remain humble whilst extolling his own virtues. :-|

Where does one find this elusive perpetual post padding thread????

Being a Mod On another Board I do understand that post padding does create havoc for the natural flow of things, But I also agree if your going to give benefits for the number of posts, your going to get a certain amount of this type of activity....

Hope my saying Hi and welcoming a few newb's to the board didn't get any feathers ruffled....let me apologise in advance ...But I didn't find this thread till I had allready padded a few Posts......LOL:-)

As mentioned above there is nothing wrong with a nice welcome message but the problem is, in my personal opinion, when some people seek out posts that have been dead for months and put a useless post at the end of them just to add posts up in a hurry. If they want to add something of value to the topic...by all means post away. Maybe it is just me but if I am going to spend a few hundred on an order I should be able to afford the $20 shipping or whatever it is without posting on threads that are months old.

I'm proud of ya Sleeper, nothing wrong with welcoming the group. Honestly, with rules and rewards related to the number of posts it seems/ed logical to me.

Oh well.

Ever notice how some threads are a padders dream? You post a quick response that is technically is not a "pad". Someone posts "What's your favorite petite corona". Then 100 people answer with a one word reply - "Boli PC", "PLPC", etc. Funny.

Of course, the professional padder uses greater skill and gets bonus pads:

Pro: "What's you favorite petite corona"

NoobPadder#1: "Boli PC"

Pro: "Thanks for the info"

NoobPadder#2: "Monte #4"

Pro: "Oh, I'll have to try some of those"

Score:

Professional Padder: 3

Noob1: 1

Noob2: 1

Harwell,

That is ingenious. If one is able to survive smoking those eggs (i.e. the proposed FOH gauntlet) then they should be allowed to post again. Gosh that is the worst punishment I can think of. That tobacco would probably kill any pets in the house. I mean, the only other use I would have for eggs is for my inlaws.
