A walk down memory lane: New "humitor" at Gimeno

The retailer (Gimeno) was founded in 1920 by Mr. Gimeno at La Rambla, 100, right in the beating heart of Barcelona's commercial and cultural life.

I love the humidor! 

During the early 20th century, La Rambla was the primary meeting point for Barcelona's intellectual, artistic, and political elite. Strategically situated near the Boqueria Market and the Liceu Opera House, Gimeno quickly established itself as a premier destination for high-end Cuban cigars, catering to both affluent locals and visiting international travelers

The store at La Rambla, 100 remains open, but it now operates under the name Domingo Cigars

Here’s a pic of the premises of the great-grandfather of my local dealer, dated 1904 (family business in fourth generation). Boxes over boxes stacked up to the high ceiling, four employees and an errand boy, two ‘eternal’ flames on the counter for patrons. …😮‍💨
