TX Duo Review - La Aurora 100 años Robusto OR 2004

@Capn_Jackson I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.

Once Jackson alerted me as to what this was, I couldn't resist, although this will put him quite far behind in reviews. 

Unfortunately this isn't for me. Quite mellow, still punchy, syrupy velvet smoke, all the things I normally love, but there's at least one Dominican tobacco that automatically turns me off if it's used with too heavy a hand. Although it's not explicitly stated as being in this blend, there's an overpowering flavor on the first puff that lingers until I give up getting into the nub.

There's great lip smacking salinity, some interesting citrus, and perhaps even some unami mushroom reduction underneath, but all I taste can only be described as 'sweet rotting fish.' Construction isn't great, but North Texas humidity isn't playing nice either.
