Popular Post Çnote Posted May 21 Popular Post Posted May 21 @Capn_Jackson what day is it? I smoked these on Sunday but I haven't gotten around to typing them up yet. Partly as I smoked them with Jackson so notes are sparse due to other conversation (lots of JRR), but mostly as both of these were personally polarizing. Dalia - we've all been waiting on this to be released for months. Get ready to wait longer. Admittedly, both Jackson and I are very patient (read: distracted) and will happily wait a few more months for sticks to rest and acclimate to our own personal preferences of humidity. A week of these in the box on the counter did nothing for me. Marzipan creme spice, but all stuck in 1st gear. Delicious, but will get better and unfurl the sails later this year for many, but I'm projecting a year to 18 months before my next. I will get another box soon and could easily see this as my #1 cigar in the future. I love the vitola, the absolute class shows in spades even being so chunky today. The only competition is the MOFOH 44 i had today (Jackson we need to get on those my friend). As a benchmark for the future, I'm happy to have smoked this, but I feel it would have been better in the fall at least if not 2028. SnS - 4x50 is less and less a preferred size for me. Monsters in general aren't really my jam. I wasn't expecting to like this, just appreciate it, but here I am regretting all of them that I flipped. Rough leather, red pepper and bitter spice, mellowed with rich cream into custard. A fist in velvet. I had smoked on of these with 60 days of rest to no real enjoyment and chalked it up to not liking Monsters. Re-evaluatations coming, alas. You gotta smoke them to know them. Smoke them all, and enjoy them as you can. Jackson, perhaps you took better notes than I. I'm still stuck on Farmer Maggot and Fatty in Crickhollow. I hope your retrohale is back on track for this SnS. It's even got a band like Big Red (oops I took it off). One day I may even like a Bolivar the way things are going. 6
Capn_Jackson Posted May 24 Posted May 24 My two cents on the Dalia. This has potential to be one of my favorite Fab 5 cigars, but right now it’s too young for me. This is a beautiful cigar, great size. Cold draw has a very unique creamy flavor, maybe coconut or blueberry, and coffee. Light-up is berries and cocoa, morphing into graham cracker and a twangy pecan. Exquisite on the palate and in the nose. Going on there’s lots of cocoa, cream, nuts, and caramel macchiato. Around the midpoint, though, things die down. I was very much enjoying up to this point, but everything became a little muted in the middle. This is basically almost ROTT, which is not where I like my sticks. Six months from now, this thing will be very, very nice. A year from now, I see this being an absolutely incredible smoke! I need to grab a box and bury them. Parts of that earlier shine came back here and there toward the end, but mostly this one felt like it needed months of downtime to get where I personally want it, and I have no doubt that it will absolutely glow once it gets to a year or more. Didn’t get to the Tat SnS smoke, and now I am down with a wicked sinusitis, so it’ll be another few days. I had one about half a year after they were released, and really enjoyed it, so we’ll see what a few years’ time has done for it. All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost… 3 1

Take your time getting better and I'll see you soon, we'll have to review what @El Presidente said was the worst cigar ever, he even made me take most of them back from the deck!
