I've always been skeptical of the Piramides Selecion 5 count packages. A few years back I placed a bid on some and won via BR. They were 2016s if I remember correctly (potentially 17), H.Upmann factory code, MEG I believe. I was floored at how good they were. The Hoyo piramide I especially remember stood out. I wasn't expecting much from it but it sure did deliver. Just my two cents...

As @gormag38 said, they can potentially 'floor' you in their quality, then again, they can be ordinary. That has been my experience.

Thanks @JohnS@gormag38! I am new to Cubans, but why would H Upmann, HdM, Cohiba, Montecristo, Partagas, and RyJ all be made out of the H.Upmann Factory? The multi-brand selection box I am looking at has a factory code BRE (H Upmann).

That’s how all Cubans work. Those factory names are historical names. Since 1959 all private industry has been nationalized so those brands aren’t individual entities. All Cuban brands have the same owner and individual factories produce whatever they’re told to for the portfolio.

I like all three of the Seleccion Boxes (Petit Robusto, Robusto and Piramides) and had good luck with them. I smoked two boxes of 2018 Piramides and can't say anything negative.

Tremendous hit and miss on these. I have had 95's and 84's across the range. No idea why.

The stamp indicates where the cigars have been packed, not necessarily where they have been made. There’s only one stamp that can go on the box.
