This series to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world.

To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well!

Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor)   4-6 (Average to good)   7-10  (very good to excellent)  Use the Poll.

The Cuaba brand was  officially launched on November 19, 1996 by the president of Habanos S.A., Francisco Linares, at an event held at Claridge’s Hotel in London.
The brand was to be celebration of the hand rolled double figurado. A comeback of this complicated and once very popular shape that somehow fell out of favour around the 1950's.

I love a well designed marketing concept!

There have been very good cigars released under the Cuaba marque. There have been some underwhelming cigars as well.

To my mind the finest of all Cuba cigars is the Distinguidos. This 52 × 162 mm (6⅜″) Perfecto is an absolute masterpiece that represents everything that is great about Cuaba. The blend is an absolute light medium bodied cracker that screams roasted peanuts and milk coffee.  My opinion only and while I have been disappointed in many a Cuaba, it has been a rarity to experience an underwhelming Distinguidos. They have generally delivered 92+ experiences.

I've never smoked a Cuaba. I've got two of the Asia Pacifico regionals from them sitting there to age but as the opinion on the brand has been so divisive I've gone elsewhere with the money. Would like to get a box of Salomones one day and put them away for 10-20 years.

Salomones are good/the second best of the line. Distinguidos in my opinion are significantly better.

I am a big fan of the Cuaba Distinguidos but it's been awhile since I have had one. I've found them quite good, in general; both in terms of flavour and construction.
