Hey everyone, so after the first box with the barcode that came back the wrong quantity and discussion with the vendor I did buy a box. Yes I know it’s very expensive to be wrong but everything looked good on this box and the vendor has been great to me and others with legit boxes every time. Here’s some pics of this box, please note I can’t show the lid because the vendors sticker is on it. But here are a few photos of both the box with packaging as well as side by side comparisons with a stick from a well known vendor who is highly regarded in the community (theirs is always on the right side). I will say I know ultimately the true test is in the smoking of the cigar, but just from the smell that they smell identical to my verified stick.

Is there anything on this box that seems suspect to you?

Forgot to mention, I have used a crappy 395nm light (got a 365 coming) to check the warranty seal and the bands. While the security code is missing from the bands the squares are present. My current light does not show the squares well on camera but you can still see them, here is the deal as reference it has the 4 dots as well.

I will say that fraudsters have learned to fake all the security features of Cuban cigars, including Cohiba bands and warranty seals. You can check the band and warranty stamp under a microscope to see the quality of the microprinting, but this will not provide a 100% guarantee. The main question is where and for what price you purchased a 2019 box. This is already vintage, and there are no idiots selling it for the price of fresh boxes. Only a trusted official store can provide a 100% guarantee.

I will have to get back from a small trip to get better pics to check these micro prints, I did check the coat of arms for the micro and that did match. But I’ll check everything better when I get back. I did purchase this through a trusted a gray market vendor although he did show me that previous box with the bar code coming back as the wrong quantity. Everything else I’ve bought from this vendor has been legit though and he has been endorsed in other forums. The price was $1000 USD which I found seemed fair market value for a 2019 box though I could be wrong. Here’s an old pic I took of the micro printing in the coat of arms

I do have a photo of the seal that you can see at least the numbers match, there’s one number under the “R” in Republica I didn’t circle because I can’t see it. But I will get photos to better show the font of these soon!
