Çnote Posted Wednesday at 02:51 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:51 AM Smacks my face with ancho chili pineapple and roast pork. Burn is rough but I got these scratch and dent for a song, so I can't complain. Rich lava rocks and pain grille, smouldering herbs de Provence. Incredibly savory with sweet earth, chili con carne, roasted poblano and charred corn. Retro is a suet driven plum pudding, or maybe even suet birdseed cake would be a better description. Getting to halfway, nuances of BBQ sauce and fresh leather get in the driver's seat, there's no creme or spice but there's still a lightness that keeps this from being monolithic. Suddenly we are in chocolate covered raisins and rocky road ice cream. The burn is hideous and I'm fighting a minor tunnel, straightening back out into thick forest floor with a trace of mushroom and sweet paprika. Getting into the 3rd3rd, roast pork with coffee rub. Chicory, toasted pine nuts. Unfortunately the nub falls apart with wrapper damage. I'm not the biggest fan of broadleaf but this was very good for a change of pace. @Capn_Jackson I'll give ya a minute to catch up and enjoy. 2
Capn_Jackson Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I destroyed the head of this cigar when i clipped it, but luckily was able to apply some cigar glue and rectify the loss. Cold draw has coffee, sweet baking spices, and berry. Light-up has loads of plum brandy, some coffee, and the same spices. Going on, some ancho chile heat and good spiced fruits. Brioche with some cashew butter. A little meatiness, charred oak, and very faint soft leather. Second third is basically cocoa-rubbed pork fat. Delicious, although it’s trying to unravel on me. Past the midpoint, some earthy funk and salted nuts. Almond, and maybe a little toffee bar. Still some meaty notes, but it’s moving more toward duck fat than pork. Rich. At about this point, @Çnote himself shows up at the lounge, so I can thank him in person for this smoke. Pleasantly distracted with conversation, but this cigar ends about like it began. Some plum wine, coffee, brioche, earth, faint whisps of leather, and even a little citrus peel toward the end. Some more unraveling at the head, but overall a great aged Tat. 90, because the unraveling was not a construction issue. Cody shared with me that these were some scratch n dent acquisitions. Honestly the one I had wasn’t that damaged, smoked pretty well throughout. Thanks for another fantastic smoke, Cody! 1
