Olie364 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Looking for some suggestions from those of you that have traveled to Gran Canaria. My wife and I are expecting our first child in June and marking a last hurrah trip with a week in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria at the end of February. I have a rental car so and planning on checking out the LCDH one day. Any suggestions for restaurants, tapas, sites, cigar stores that I might have missed in my research? Thanks! 1
Hypnos Posted January 12 Posted January 12 It might be worth checking out the cigar shop called “El Rincón del Fumador” in Las Palmas. If you like coffee, there is a great place in beautiful Agaete called “Café Platinium,” where you can taste and buy their local coffee. If you get the chance to visit Tejeda, make sure to try the amazing almond cookies at “Dulcería Nublo.” Gran Canaria is an amazing island with many great places to visit! 1 1
Popular Post potpest Posted January 12 Popular Post Posted January 12 I goto Las Palmas every year but don't know the rest of the island too well. El Rincon De Fumador is an excellent shop, you should be well looked after there. There is another shop Alambique nearby which has a wide range of NC's and a few Cubans, all excellently kept. They're the only two in Las Palmas, the others only have local cigars, which El Rincon has the best of. One of my favourite spots is the Santa Catalina hotel for a drink and a cigar downstairs (pic below), good spot for a daytime smoke as well. Not bad price wise; Cocktails are around €10. You can also smoke upstairs on the rooftop bar Ali's. (Make the most of it as it could be banned soon). My favourite restaurants are: El Equilibrista Poemas Qué Leche Deliciosa Marta Hikari Japanese Roots Sorondongo Rever Tabaiba Trattoria Pizzeria Calabre. 5 1

We are staying at Santa Catalina for the week. Glad to hear they are cigar friendly. Wife is pregnant, so it's good news that I can smoke on site while she’s at the spa.
El Gato Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Great suggestions. Roque Nublo is a must. Also try find a La Regenta Rum barrel-aged at el rincón del fumador. 1

You can smoke in designated areas in the bars and on the balcony of the room, if you have one, with no issues.
carsncigarsuk Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The La Regenta factory is on Gran Canaria so if you get the chance to you can get some lovely smokes for very good prices. The 1921 Rum Barrel Aged are good as are the 1921 Maduro Pyramide. Also available are the Consul Maduro which are very nice as well. If you message @rubenarte78 on Instagram he is the owner and could possibly reserve you some bits for collection. Have a good trip.
