Principle Cigars Releases Haberdasher

The joke about getting an ugly tie as a present has seemingly been around forever. But for its latest release, Principle Cigars is running with it and using some of those ties to wrap up a five-pack of limited edition cigars.

The line is called Haberdasher, named for the term for either a men’s clothing retailer or someone who sells sewing items. It’s described as a very limited edition release, with the cigars measuring 6 x 55 and using an Ecuadorian habano hybrid wrapper, a Dominican Republic binder from the Cotui region, and a filler that contains three varietals from the Dominican Republic alongside some U.S.-grown tobacco.

The cigars are made at the Kelner Boutique Factory in the Dominican Republic and are priced at $60 for a pack of five cigars. As part of the theme, the cigar bands are designed to replicate a 1960s-style shirt tag.

The cigars are now available at select retailers and via Principle Cigars’ website.

Cioffi told halfwheel that while this first batch is limited, he thinks it might return in the future. “We’ll probably do it again, as we have thousands of the ties, but this was really just a test and a fun thing to do for Christmas,” he said.

Haberdasher – A Small Collection by Principle Cigars

Principle Cigars of Nashville, Tennessee, is ready to ship a very small collection run of their new Haberdasher cigars. Each of them is wearing a 1960s shirt label and a borrowed tie. “These are serious cigars dressed with whatever we had. Tailored poorly, but crafted exceptionally”, says Principle owner, Darren Cioffi. 

Five KBF cigars, each finished with an original 1960s clothing label and bundled together with a vintage necktie that’s clearly seen better days.
