(DC News Now) — A Charles County cigar lounge fire is being investigated as an arson case. The early morning fire at Pasha Cigar Lounge in Waldorf caused thousands of dollars in damage. Ashley Ellis is the general manager, and she calls this a major setback to her business. Most of the cigar inventory stored in the humidor room was destroyed. She says there was roughly $75,000 in damages, which also included a broken glass door. “It seems like it was only in that area; no other major damage was done anywhere else. We did have a loss of a few liquor bottles [that] they used to start the fire to ignite it. But it was pretty localized to that area,” Ellis said. Firefighters quickly put the fire out, and no one was hurt. Ellis says the business security footage shows a male suspect who allegedly ignited the fire. No arrests have been made, business investor Lucky Washington says the situation could have ended worse. “We are thankful that nobody was hurt. We did take a loss, but we can regain [it] and get it back. The amount of stuff that they did is not going to stop us, and it will be replaced,” Washington said. The business general Manager says, despite what happened, the cigar lounge is planning to hold its grand opening on Friday night. HP2 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I hope they catch the bastard who was responsible for this. I find this action to be disgusting. Not because I am a cigar smoker but for the message this individual was trying to send. Clearly, he does not want this business to open and be successful and thrive. He was sending a message by starting this fire in the humidor. Disgusting, cowardly behavior. 1
