BrightonCorgi Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Going to Madrid next week for a birthday party. Any good estancias one can recommend? I am bringing cigars, but if there's an opportunity to buy a box, why not? Any other non-cigar related suggestions while there?
Skm672 Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 I would recommend Estanco Barquillo, and Magellanes. For non-cigar I would say Villa Magna, Ritz and Hotel Santa Mauro are three nice hotels with cigar friendly terraces 1
MagicalBikeRide Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Another vote for Magallanes. I’m in Madrid every couple months and it’s the best stocked in my experience. Beyond cigars, I associate Madrid with a calamari sandwich and a couple beers - way better than it sounds. I always end up in the place linked below - https://maps.app.goo.gl/5eMGCnr1atonKax19?g_st=ipc 1 1
PuroDiario Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Some restaurants to fill up before the cigar: Desde 1911 Los 33 Charrúa El enemigo Lana Mateo Honten Casa SALESAS Varra Casa Canito Na Num Some estancos: Cava Magallanes (C/ Magallanes) – well stocked, and has gotten popular with a few influencers pushing it and owners betting on it. Cava Cardenal Cisneros – always has had a strong reputation in the city and is a classic. Estanco Barquillo (C/ Barquillo 22) – Great location, near some of the restaurants above, great shopping area and drinks and hype all aronud Cava Miguel Ángel (C/ Miguel Ángel) – another classic that has historically been one of the best ones Estanco Bejarano – far, neighborhoodie, have not been in a while. but people still talk about it You can essentially smoke in any outdoor terrace in Madrid.., hotels mentioned above are great, also is the fourseasons courtyard (probably a must for a cigar these days in the city). I like the Plaza de Santa Ana / Barrio de las Letras area, grab a drink outside and enjoy. 3 1
BrightonCorgi Posted September 12, 2025 Author Posted September 12, 2025 I am not too concerned about where to smoke, but rather where to buy and eat/drink. Debating whether to bring a wine shipper. Holds a case of wine and is check in luggage.
